A single word, the wrong word, has the power to send me spiraling, around and down, for days or even weeks on end. Take, for example, womanly, a word which is a only a string of seven harmless letters. Of course, it’s context that’s the killer.

    …or ‘girly’.

You might feel the impact of careless words, but you can pack a punch with a paragraph, too.

So at least yer armed, yeah?

    Nifty spiral shot.

“don’t” brings out the rebel in me. Love the shot. Interesting shapes, lighting & contrast.

*nods at Lilli* Can totally relate to that. Mine is “incumbent”.

I love the angle of this shot :-)

Wonderful photo to illustrate your point.

Note that you can see through the spiral in the photo as you can see through those words that pack punches!

mine is ‘whereby’, no context needed either.

    Lovely photo, as ever

    My word is …..
    MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The angst of what that single yell holds. Are they fighting, is one hurt, am I going to laugh or cry when I find out? I love the picture also.

    “b-o-o-g-e-r-s”

    Yup.

    ‘Can’t’.

Or rather, people who say there’s no such word as ‘can’t', when there clearly is, contraction or not. If I wouldn’t be formally charged for it, then I couldn’t say “I can’t shove your face into a heavy dictionary until you see this word that doesn’t exist.”

Much to do about nothing ??

I’m thinking “matronly” would be even worse.
