    oh brilliant lovely photographs !
I can see why you didn’t want to leave….’there’ really is a beautiful place, thanks for showing us some colour when everything over here is very grey and bald.

  2. 2 An Unreliable Witness

    That’s it.

    I want to be there.

    Now, please.

*clicks heels together three times, but disappointingly still remains in grey, uninspiring office in west London*

    Damn.

  3. 3 Paul

    Nice pics !!

  4. 4 Stephen

These are awesome shots. Well done. (found you through the Tag Browser on wordpress.com.)

Gorgeous photos. Wonderful. You even make things I don’t really like (bugs, for instance) really interesting to look at. Just curious, do you have tech specs anywhere? I’m shopping around for a camera. Might just go with the Nikon Rebel which is what I had but curious to know what you use…

  6. 6 mad

Wow, it’s like wandering into National Geographic. Welcome back!

That top one is frankly astonishing, with the butterfly showing behind the leaves. That photo is one of a kind.

    Spider EEEEEk.

The color of the water caught me, too. Mesmerizing.

Such beauty. Personal favourite? That last one. I can’t get enough of that tree.

Let’s all move there and form a commune, yes?

Wow, they are so beautifully taken. I love the mushrooms and the ants! The first time I saw those ant species was on Magnetic Island.

What they said. All of ‘em.

I like the lizard - “oh, erm, ignore me, just off”

I like all the others too. Makes me wonder if the light passing *from* your eyes is as beautiful.

  12. 12 rich (richmanwisco)

Unbelievably good. Are you getting any professional offers?

I really really need to upgrade my kit.

Isabelle Thank you Isabelle, and not everything over there is grey, there are some very lush words coming from that hemisphere xx.

AUW Damn indeed! Try reciting “There’s no place like there, there’s no place like there, there’s no place like there” and get ye some ruby shoes from the next witch your abode lands on.

    Paul Thank you!

    Stephen Glad you think so!

Smiler Thank you. I use a Canon IXY digital 55, it is my little 3-year-old friendly point and click! But what I want next is a Canon Digital Rebel XTi…soon.

Mad Minus the boobs and traditional dress.

Amuirin That water is so calming.

Ani It would be commune/collective/co-operative of correspondents.

Lisa Y I’ve eaten them, have you? They are tasty little insects.

    Richie Hello, thanks.

OE I like the gecko too, I miss watching them hunt moths from the comfort of the dunny and also their little barks in the middle of the humid, still nights.

    RichHa ;)
    What would you upgrade to?

  14. 14 peach

MAN how BIG is that spider? !!!!!!!

  15. 15 rich (richmanwisco)

    I don’t know Lil, a new photographer, perhaps? ;)

  16. 16 lillipilli

You goose Rich, your photos are wonderful :)

  17. 17 Smiler

Well for a little point and click, it takes amazing photos. Do you rework them on Photoshop or is that it? Sorry, I’m not normally interested in technical stuff, just trying to figure out what’s what.

  18. 18 LazyBuddhist

Damn, girl. Nice. Your words and pictures never fail to blow me away.

  19. 19 lillipilli

    Peach- BIG.

Smiler- No photoshop, they are just ‘enhanced’ in iphoto. Sometimes, like the hilarious warning sign pic for instance, I do remove colours from a photo using gimpshop.

    LazyBuddhist- :)

  20. 20 Lisa Y

really??! Just live like that or cooked? They are huge too. Oh my. I would love to try it.

  21. 21 miles away

wow. they are rather a good selection of nature-inspired pictorials!

i rather like the tree which is sprouting fungi. it looked a little like someone had thrown a boiled egg at it on first look.
